How to make Ground Beef and Pasta Casserole in the Instant Pot
Here’s the breakdown with step-by-step photos.
Step 1 – Brown the beef
Press “Saute”, throw in your ground beef, oregano, parsley and garlic and brown the beef until it is no longer pink, breaking it up with a spoon as you go.

Step 2 – Add in all the other ingredients and pressure cook
Add all the other ingredients except the cheese , give it a good stir , put the lock lid on, turn the valve to close, press “Pressure Cook” until the “high” lights up. Use “+” to set the time to 4 minutes. Wait 10 seconds and the Instant Pot will begin to do its thing.

Step 3 – Quick release, unlock lid, and stir in cheese
Turn the valve to release (I use a wooden spoon to do this so that I don’t get burnt), allow the pressure to release, then unlock the lid. Stir in the cheese and allow it to melt. Voila! Your casserole is ready to serve!

Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups scoobido macaroni, dry
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp Franks Red Hot
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp parsley flakes
- 28 oz can diced tomato
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 16 oz shredded sharp cheddar
Instructions
- Press saute and add ground beef, oregano, parsley and garlic.
- Cook until no longer pink and also crumbling.
- Add all other ingredients except cheese, give it a good stir.
- Put on, lock lid and close valve.
- Press "Pressure Cook" and cook 4 minutes on high, then quick release.
- Stir in the cheese allow to melt and serve.

Very tasty. I use gluten free pasta and it is so easy cooking it all in one pot so not having to deal with pasta water down the kitchen sink. I just realized that I used crushed red pepper by mistake instead of hot sauce, but we love the extra hot kick. Will certainly make this again!

Great recipe! Used extra paste because I love tomatoe sauce. Probably good without it. Also used spiced (italian) tomatoes. Super easy and delish
