Tips for this Spinach Smoothie Recipe

Be sure to use well ripened bananas because they give the smoothie most of it’s natural sweetness, and use baby spinach instead of regular because it has a milder, sweeter flavor than the more mature spinach.

If you haven’t given green smoothies a try this one, it is the perfect basic recipe to start with and it only requires a few ingredients.

If you are making it just for yourself then you can definitely halve the recipe and if you don’t have a heavy duty blender you may need to add more liquid But if you are looking to invest in a good blender I’d highly recommend it, a good blender can make a big difference, my blender of choice is a Blendtec.

Awesome recipe, I need to try this! I currently have a few protein recipes similar that I make, but definitely going to try this one.

    Thanks!

  2. Does adding protein powder to a smoothie change the taste at all?

    1. It depends on the flavour of the protein powder. I prefer vanilla powders with no artificial sweeteners in them so that they only add a light vanilla taste to it.

  3. I have been looking for smoothie recipes that include spinach. I will be trying this one soon.

Wow, this is so close to my after bike-ride or breakfast smoothie! I add ice and a bit less milk, but I’ll have to try adding the spinach as well! I’m a big fan of spinach salad and stir fry, but it hasn’t crossed my mind to put it in a blender with some fruit. I’ll be trying this after my next trip to market.
