Last year I made the decision to see what would happen if I ran four times a week. I had read articles about people who did Yoga everyday, did a plank everyday, gave up alcohol for a month, or did 10 minutes of strength training everyday so I was curious what consistency with my running could do for me. As the title suggests, this blog post is a summary of my results and has served as motivation for over 100,000 visitors!
I think you’ll like this “casserole” recipe. It’s kind of an all in one meal…veggies, starch and meat all in your Instant Pot. This was my most popular recipe of 2018. If you are looking for a quick and easy Instant Pot meal that will please even your smallest eaters, you’ll like this recipe. This one is so yummy and ridiculously simple – it’ll blow you away.
In this post I shared why I started using a menstrual cup, tips on how to use a menstrual cup, and 10 reasons why I’ve been using a menstrual cup for 10 years. This post was viewed over 7,000 times! I’ve been using menstrual cups for so long because generally they don’t leak.
This is recipe was shared by Greatist in the post “7 Meal-Prep Dressings So You No Longer Have to Eat a Sad Desk Salad“. This simple homemade zesty lime salad dressing is guaranteed to get you back into the salad making mood again, it really will. I promise it will brighten up any winter blues that might be starting to settle in. Use this fresh and delicious Zesty Lime Salad Dressing as a marinade for grilled chicken or seafood, or a dressing for your next salad.
In this post I put my Athletic Therapy certificate that I earned from York University to good use and shared a comprehensive rehab plan for a common, yet debillitating running injury: Peroneal Tendonitis. I shared this post because I had managed to injure myself and thought others may find the overview of this injury and my rehab plan useful. This post has become quite popular so I’m wondering if injury rehab posts like this one would be something you would like to see more of here on Salads for Lunch?
This recipe is a simple version of the classic meat and vegetable comfort food casserole topped with cheesy garlic mashed potatoes, this is the best Shepherd’s Pie recipe you’ll ever make. Shepard’s Pie is one of those things that is easy to grab from the frozen food section, then pop in the oven to bake so you may be saying to yourself, why would I ever make this from scratch? Well I’ll tell you why: Frozen Shepard’s Pie tastes like cat food compared to this. Yes, my Shepard’s Pie may LOOK like cat food, but I assure you it’s delicious!
In this post I shared a great way to create a spreadsheet tool using Google Docs, that tracks your weight loss progress that also allows you to share your progress with your blog readers in a nifty little chart.
I think all runners have encountered an injury (or two)…..I know that I’ve definitely had my share, so I summarized the 5 leading causes of running injuries. The thing with injuries is that each and every one makes us smarter – they teach us things about our bodies, and if we’re paying attention to our bodies, most of our injuries won’t be repeated.
After spending many years running consistently, training for and completing marathons, I swore I would never fall back into my old couch-potato ways. Building endurance is hard. Unfortunately I found myself having to rebuild my endurance. My running posts were quite popular this year. In this post I shared tips on how to start running again.
Running is always better when you’ have a great beat to match your pace. In this post I share 35 of my favorite fast paced 90s songs to help you get your best run or workout.
I hope you enjoy my 10 best posts of the year!
