- Potatoes – I use Yukon Gold
- Nutmeg
- Salt
- Pepper
- Flour
- Onion; sliced
- Butter
- Milk

How to make scalloped potatoes from scratch
- Heat oven to 350F
- Grease a shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
- Spread half the potatoes over the bottom.
- Combine salt, pepper, nutmeg and flour.
- Sprinkle potatoes with half of the flour mixture, and half the onions.
- Dot potatoes with half the butter.
- Spread remaining potatoes, sprinkle the remaining flour mixture, onions and dot with remaining butter.
- Heat milk in microwave, then pour over top of potatoes.
- Cover and bake for 65 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes until potatoes are fork tender.
