  • Potatoes – I use Yukon Gold
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • Onion; sliced
  • Butter
  • Milk

How to make scalloped potatoes from scratch

  1. Heat oven to 350F
  2. Grease a shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  3. Spread half the potatoes over the bottom.Cooking scalloped potatoes recipe with organic potatoes.
  4. Combine salt, pepper, nutmeg and flour.
  5. Sprinkle potatoes with half of the flour mixture, and half the onions.
  6. Dot potatoes with half the butter.
  7. Spread remaining potatoes, sprinkle the remaining flour mixture, onions and dot with remaining butter. Cooking scalloped potatoes recipe with organic potatoes.
  8. Heat milk in microwave, then pour over top of potatoes.
  9. Cover and bake for 65 minutes.
  10. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes until potatoes are fork tender.
