My 6 Year Old Shares Her Thoughts on Herbal Magic Products

I have to show you this video – it’s a conversation initiated by my 6yo after watching the Herbal Magic commercial on TV. In my opinion a 6yo shouldn’t be aware of these things but she is because she’s seen a lot of inappropriate commercials for weight loss products – they’re everywhere! I personally feel that weight loss is an adult issue, and that kids shouldn’t be aware of things like weight. They should just be concerned with being active and eating well.

Thankfully my messages to her are sinking in….

And of course she has lots of other great ideas for us on how to stay healthy – like brushing you teeth and washing your hands 🙂

Sierra is one smart, smart kid, Janice 🙂
And on top of that, a kid who loves drinking water (rather than aspartame-loaded soda and refined sugary juice)??? That’s just golden!!

Kids are like sponges. They absorb everything parents do, even the stuff you don’t think affect them. This is the reason it is so critical for parents to maintain a healthy lifestyle!!

I’ve done Herbal magic, i did it when i was in the last year of highschool. Just so everyone is aware, they do encourage exercise. The foods that you eat are all grocery store bought foods and before i did Herbal Magic, i didnt even know where to begin for healthy eating. I thought that having a salad cutting out bread and just not eating enough was healthy. I’m proud that Sierra recognizes that healthy eating and exercise should be enough to live a healthy lifestyle and that she is probably educated on what healthy food choices are. However for the mother to teach Sierra that some weight loss programs are “unhealthy” I don’t agree with. Everyone should take the time to learn about programs before they judge it. I know there are other programs out there that are not healthy at all, but all I’m trying to say is “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” Thanks to herbal magic I lost 40lbs and they taught me healthy portions and how to have my favorite foods but with healthier alternatives.

I guess you shouldn’t follow Canada’s Food Guide because that’s pretty much the portions you have with Herbal Magic at the end of your program

This is because I don’t believe in weight as a measure of health. Health is strength, balance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, healthy eating, adequate rest and a sound mind. Does Herbal Magic teaches those ideals? From the commercials they indicate that weight is a measure of health & self worth. I’ll admit though, not every child has a Kinesiologist as a mother. I teach my children that being active is for fun & for longevity, not as a way to fit into a smaller pair of pants. This is because I’ve treated many geriatric patients for injuries that could have been prevented if they had lead an active & healthy lifestyle. Frozen shoulders & decreased range of motion, loss of balance etc happens to everyone who is inactive, no matter what their weight or size is. Unfortunately that background info doesn’t come through in the video.
