Motivation Monday: Merry FITmas Everyone!

When it comes to healthy/mindful eating, this past week was a complete bust. Two potluck meals, a team lunch, and a family dinner out totally had me eating copious amounts of food and sweets. Actually, it was probably the sweets that got me – I have SUCH a sweet tooth!!

I made cookies for both of the potlucks, but unfortunately I was so busy this week that I cheated with the baking:

Thankfully everyone loved them – though I had to admit to them all that I’m really not the great baker they all thought (though if I had more time I would have made my homemade low-fat chocolate chip cookies).

In between all the face stuffing, I  managed to fit in three workouts. One workout was at the gym where I made up a strength routine (that left me sore and barely able to walk for two days), and the other two workouts were short runs.  One of them I did on Sunday afternoon with my 5 yo daughter Brooke:

She ran 3.5km with me!! Man – was she ever excited to run with mommy – I could barely keep up with her! She is one awesome little girl!

On Friday I cam home from work feeling overwhelmed with Holiday stress and defeated.  I pay A LOT of money to daycare – almost my whole pay cheque, and was disappointed that the way things worked out with stat holiday pay for my babysitter, I ended up paying her MORE money than I usually do, even though the girls will only be going there for 3 days of the holidays instead of their usual 10.  I was actually in tears because it meant I couldn’t afford to buy my husband the Christmas gift I had wanted to get him (a new winter jacket that he badly needs).

A big box had arrived that day from FILA that totally cheered me up – in it was new shoes and a great new outfit:

Too bad I can’t give the shoes and the new outfit to my hubby as a Christmas present.  That said, I’m very thankful to FILA for sending them to me – they look and feel great!!

This week will likely be a low-key relaxing week – I’m off all week and we’re hosting Christmas dinner, so basically I don’t have to go anywhere until New Year’s Eve!  I’m planning on running 4 times, and perhaps hitting the gym once.

The trouble with running is that the ice falls out of your glass.

Merry FITmas everyone!

I was totally thinking about how I have been eating so unhealthy lately and I am not able to run right now or exercise due to my leg injury…

I can’t wait until I can really start running, I want to take my little girl with me too… she would love having time with mama like your little girl does.;).
