5 Foods I Can’t Live Without

Today is day 5 of the August Healthy Living / Fitness Blogger Writing Challenge and we’re talking about the 5 foods that we can’t live without.

Now if you had asked me this question 18 months ago my answer would have been drastically different, but since having Amber my food choices have radically changed. I’ve learned that I perform way better when I’m training and racing if I fuel my body with good healthy foods (now that doesn’t mean I don’t occasionally enjoy a Peanut Buster Parfait from Dairy Queen).

The 5 foods that I can’t live without are:

  1. All of the ingredients for my banana/strawberry/spinach protein breakfast smoothies:

    Nom Nom!

6 yo Sierra proudly displays the smoothie she made for me

  2. Ocean’s Tuna Salads – I eat these often as part of my lunch:

My favourite tuna and salmon salads

Spanish Tuna Salad with Cucumbers, Spinach Salad and Carrots

  3. Coffee – ok it’s not a food, but my family would tell you that I definitely can’t live without it:

The most coffee at the lowest price.

  4. Cereal – I love love love cereal!

5g of Fibre, 13g of Protein and 1g of Fat

  5. “Bubble Water” and Beer – I gave up soda last year because of all the chemicals in that crap, but I havent been able to break my addiction to the bubbles, so instead I drink carbonated water, or after the kids go to bed, a beer:

    Mommy’s “Bubble Water”

What 5 foods can YOU not live without?
PS – Don’t forget to link up your post in the comments below (I can`t wait to read all about how YOU have changed).

I’m glad you put in a multiple ingredient food – I considered it a little cheating that I list salad as one food I can’t live without. And, coffee is totally a food.

I am a coffee addict but didn’t include it on my list.

I listed other things but didn’t include on my healthy living/fitness list because….they weren’t healthy.

Hmmm…your options are a bit healthier than mine (maybe not the beer 😉 ) But alas, my taste buds cannot tell a lie. And I’m saving the beer/wine/coffee for the guilty pleasures…because I am oh-so-guilty 🙂

No wonder why I have to go through spurts of heavily kicking the carbs out of my diet. My fav foods focus a lot on carbs lol But at least I’m making them healthier and I recognize my food weaknesses. http://busymommawellness.com/5-foods-i-must-have/

My spinach, berry and almond milk smoothie and coffee is a must. Have you checked out a Soda Stream homemade seltzer maker? I don’t like bubbles but my husband and son drink 4 bottles of homemade seltzer a day (at least) with just a splash of no sugar juice or a wedge of lime.
