Now I Remember Why I Run at Lunch

Monday night I went to WalMart after the kids went to bed to do some Christmas shopping. I had a few things on my list (stocking stuffers, wrapping paper, tape, gift tags, food for our lunches, etc …) and had planned my outing to be a Ã…”quick trip  …..Instead I got caught up in the moment and the bright lights, so my quick little errand ended up taking 90 min. (Do bright store lights Ã…”wake  you up too?) Anyways, I stayed so late enjoying my Ã…”freedom  that the hubby called me on my cell all worried that something had happened to me.

Fast forward to Tuesday morning … I woke up at 7:20 ” over an hour later than normal. Somehow I had managed to sleep through my iPhone alarm (I ‘m Sexy and I Know It) being played repeatedly, and everyone in the house also slept in. I felt so sluggish and tired. By lunch time I STILL felt tired so I decided to give myself a rest day, yanno, skip my planned 5k run (it’s only 5k right? No big deal), then I ate some good ol’ Canadian Poutine for lunch …

So freaking good but ….. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Holy moly! I felt like I had taken a sleeping pill or something! My head was soooooooo heavy! And although I shouldn’t admit this, I wasn’t all that productive (unless head nods count as being productive, Ëœcause I certainly produced a lot of those). Normally, when I run at lunch, I come back feeling energized, awake and ready to concentrate. But Tuesday afternoon was a whole Ëœnother ballgame. I just couldn’t Ã…”get into  my work.

Have you ever had that happen to you? Skip a workout because you’re tired, then realised after that if you had just worked out you would have felt a million times better?

My own motto is ringing in my ears … You can have fitness or excuses … Perhaps tomorrow I ‘ll make the right choice.

    oh my goodness I want some of those fries asap! I have only had boring american (Missouri at that) version and I am dying for the real deal!

    When I am feeling too tired to go for my hike I turn to Caffeine Pills, and man that exercise feels SO much easier and more fun. I try not to over do on caffeine since I want it to keep working when really needed.
