Mamavation/ Motivation

Motivation Monday – March 29, 2010

This is my Mamavation Monday post for Monday, March 29, 2010.

Wow! I just looked through my post history and realized that I have only posted 3 times in the past 2 weeks. *Sigh* It seems that my lack of energy has transferred to my blog posting as well. Thankfully my running has been a lot better than my posting 🙂 Two weeks ago, my total distance ran was 33K and this past week I backed off a little and ran 28K.

Lately I’ve felt tired and under the weather – like I’ve got a flu that just won’t take hold or bugger off 🙁 Do you have weeks like that? How do you cope?

Harry's Spring Run-Off 5K Race

Next week will be nice as I’ll be doing my first RACE this year! It’s a 5K race on Easter Sunday called the Harry’s Spring Run-Off. I’m looking forward to it and I’m hoping to finish in the top 15 for my age group! this’ll be a first for me because I usually finish in the 50th percentile – half the women my age finish ahead of me and half finish behind me.

Here’s this week’s training plan:

Monday – 6K easy with my lunch time running pals
Tuesday – Yoga
Wednesday – 8K (1K warm up & 1K cool down with 6K of speed work on the track in the middle)
Thursday – 6K asy with my lunch time running pals
Friday – 10K
Saturday – REST
Sunday – Harry’s Spring Run-Off 5K race
(Normally I take Friday off and do a long run on Saturday, but because of Sunday’s race I’m adding my distance on Friday, resting Saturday & running hard on Sunday).

What’s your plan for this week? How will you fit fitness in with the Easter Holiday?

Have a great week folks & make it an active one!

I think you are awesome! I would love to run a marathon someday! I have no idea how to train for something like that though.

I’ve just started to get back into working out too. Been swamped with work for two weeks, I’m just too exhausted to workout. You’re doing good and really been active, hopefully, your energy will pick up as well. Keep it up! — @ImAHotMom

I’m blaming lack of energy on my spring allergies, although I’m not as stuffed up when I’m up and moving. Go figure.

Yay for your first race this week! I’ll be cheering you on!!

I’m just beginning training for our school’s annual 5K run, so I am loving the motivation tips! I’ve been dragging lately too. I’m attributing it to late-night teenagers, and early morning school schedules. Uggh! The two don’t mix, do they? The only way I’m coping is trying to eat right, get rest when I can, and fake it til I make it. What else can we do? 🙂 Good luck finding your energy. Please share your secret when you find it!

It is awesome that you are keeping such a nice training schedule while fighting some “flu-like” fatigue thing going on. Find that balance between your activity and being gentle with yourself as you return to 100% again. XOXO
