#MotivateMe Monday: Working Towards My March Goals

If you’re new here, #MotivateME Monday is a weekly link-up co-hosted by myself and Running Rachel for accountability and encouragement. It’s a place for us to share goals, plans, successes and have each other to pick us up to keep moving forward.

Happy Monday everyone!  How are you adjusting to the time change?  I love love love that it’s light out later in the evening but boy was this morning tough!  My morning run tomorrow morning will be incredibly challenging.  That said I’m so excited that Spring is on its way!!  It’s like our reward for our persistence in training through the cold cruel winter.

Last week was a welcome change.  Hubby is no longer travelling for work, and the girl’s hockey is starting to wind down.  It was a much more relaxing week than the past 5  when hubby was travelling.  We enjoyed a lot of family time over the week.  I did my strength training workout on Monday, and followed the Little Black Dress 30 day challenge.  On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I got up before work and ran with the o’dark thirty ladies.

Saturday night was super fun.  We had another MasterChef night at Julie’s house.  This time the theme was St. Patrick’s day.  We made Julie prepare us a 3 course dinner using ingredients such as: potatoes, cabbage, green lentils, spinach, asparagus, pork, apples, green jello, green apple jelly beans, Guinness, Irish Whiskey etc.

This was Julie’s dessert ingredients:

Our dinner turned out amazing, though I may have had too much fun as I missed my opportunity to run on Sunday in favour of an afternoon nap with my youngest daughter.  Sunday night hubby took my oldest to hockey while I stayed home and cuddled and watched The Bee Movie on Netflix.

This week the weather is supposed to be gorgeous! The temperatures are supposed to soar to over freezing every single day!  We have had 5 weeks of every day being below freezing, so I plan on embracing the warmer weather.  My training plan for this week is:

Monday: Spinning at GoodLife Fitness, 30 min kettlebells in the evening
Challenge: 30s plank, 10 press ups, 10 Mountain climbers

Tuesday: 6-8k morning run with my best running friends
Challenge: 20 jumping jacks, 10 burpees, 10 high kness

Wednesday: Long run
Challenge: 20 squats, 20 lunges, 20 bridges

Thursday: 6-8k morning run with my best running friends
Challenge: Rest

Friday: Weights at GoodLife Fitness
Challenge: 40s plank, 15 tricep dips, 20 mountain climbers

Saturday: 20k run
Challenge: 25 jumping jacks, 20 burpees, 20 high knees

Sunday: 90 min on the trainer
Challenge: 25 bridges, 30 squats, 30 lunges

I checked our hockey schedule for next weekend and we have all afternoon free on BOTH Saturday and Sunday.  I am so excited to do my long run!

I’m so excited for warmer temperatures! Just the sunshine alone will be glorious! This morning was a tough one for me too. Went to bed too late last night (couldn’t fall asleep), a few middle of the night wake up and an early morning are going to make for a rough afternoon! Glad your weekend is looking relaxing!

Yay for nicer weather! I am so excited to see the sun and not have to bundle up…but I’m not getting my hopes up too much since it will probably snow on Wed.

    Have a great week!

    So, what was the dessert?!
Glad you had snuggle/nap time even though it meant missing out on your run.

Dessert was apples baked with Irish Whiskey and cinnamon, drizzled with green chocolate and green lentils. It was yummy but disgusting at the same time.

I like your post about the kettle bell workout from a few weeks ago! I didn’t know what to do with kettle bells before I’ve followed your workout! I’m going to start doing some more cross training.

Thanks Lucie! It’s been my go to weight workout whenever I don’t find my way to the gym. I need to up my cross training game as well, running is my soul mate activity, but I need to keep doing the other stuff too.
