Weight Loss Journey – Week 3 Recap + #MotivateMe Monday Linkup

If you’re new here, #MotivateME Monday is a weekly link-up co-hosted by myself and Run Mommy Run for accountability and encouragement. It’s a place for us to share goals, plans, successes and have each other to pick us up to keep moving forward.

So another week this year has come and gone, and thus another week in my weightloss journey.  I had a great week and am happy to report that I met all of my goals!  I ran 4 times, I strength trained 4 times and I did yoga twice.  I also stayed within my calories on MyFitnessPal 6 out of 7 days! I think I’m getting the hang of this and I’m starting to see some results, though other people may not see it yet.

Monday – Ran 5k “easy” at lunch

Tuesday – We had an ice storm but I was determined to get my run n anyways.  Ran a VERY slippery 5.5 km around the park on my lunch break.

Wednesday – Ran 5.5 km of speedwork around the park on my lunch break (2min fast, 1 min recovery jogs), then tried a HASFit Kettlebell HiiT workout that I found on YouTube when I got home from work.

Thursday – did a Yoga YouTube video after work.  I had to force myself to do it because I had a bad case of the “I don’t wannas”…

Friday – Ran 5.5 k around the park at lunch, then did a Body by Amy YouTube Kettlebell HiiT workout at home later that night.  Boy was I ever a sweaty mess from that!

Saturday – Between hockey games I did a different Body by Amy YouTube Kettlebell HiiT workout at home, later that night I went out for girls night at my friend Julie’s house to play MasterChef (we bring her mystery ingredients and she cooks an amazing meal for us – best.game.ever!).  This is what she made out of Balsamic Vinegar, Cheerios, Steak, & Baby Potatoes:

Cheerios and parmesan crusted steak with balsamic au jus and roast potatoes – man was this ever delicious!

Sunday – I spent the day at hockey with the kids, then did a FitnessBlender Kettlebell HiiT workout and a YouTube Yoga workout.  

Progress:

I promised myself that I would stick to my plan of 30 active minutes every day for 3 months + logging my meals on MyFitnessPal and I really like how this is going for me. This week I lost 1.1 lbs for a two total loss of 4.3 lbs and a body fat loss of 4.5 % this year!  I can also feel that my pants are looser and my core feels stronger.  Running-wise my pace is also improving which I noticed the most when doing speedwork on Wednesday.

Next week’s fitness plan:

Monday: 6k lunch run + Fitness Blender HIIT Workout
Tuesday: Kettlebell strength workout
Wednesday: Speedwork + Yoga
Thursday: Kettlebell strength workout
Friday: Run
Saturday: Fitness Blender HIIT Workout
Sunday: Yoga + Run
