Weekly Training Recap and #MotivateMe Monday

If you’re new here, #MotivateME Monday is a weekly link-up co-hosted by myself and Run Mommy Run for accountability and encouragement. It’s a place for us to share goals, plans, successes and have each other to pick us up to keep moving forward.

Happy belated Monday!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving (and Black Friday) weekend! It was just a normal week here – hockey, softball, work and the usual running around. Work is super busy at this time of the year and I'm feeling super stressed out. Last week wasn't a great week workout wise, but when I compare it to where I was a year ago, I'm far ahead. A good week last year was 2 or 3 workouts, this week I got in three runs, two strength training sessions and did the Bedtime Core Workout twice.

Monday: Went for a 7k run before work. I'm trying to “never miss a Monday” – it really does set the tone for the week. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to go to my boot camp class due to the training session I was in for work so I made sure that I dragged myself out of bed. I hate waking up so early, but I feel so much better if I start my day off with a run. Before bed I did the bedtime core workout.

Tuesday: Went for a 8.25k run at lunch. My pace was great and I felt like I was flying, I love runs like that! Before bed I did the bedtime core workout again.

Wednesday: Made it to bootcamp class, our trainer kicked our butts… Again! I can't say it enough, I love this class. We all groan about the workouts, yet every week the same ladies are back for more torture.

Thursday: Too busy at work to go for a lunch workout, I would have gotten up before work if I had known my day was going to be so busy.

Friday: Black Friday – did some power shopping at the mall next to my work at lunch. I braved the Old Navy line – 50% off of everything in the store was worth the line ups.

Saturday: Went for a 9k run with Juliette before I began my hockey and softball chauffeuring duties. We had a great time catching up on each other's lives and I didn't even realize we had run so far.

Monday: 5k morning run + Lunch Bootcamp Class
Tuesday: Easy 8k lunch run + Core workout
Wednesday: 8k morning run + lunch Bootcamp class
Thursday: Easy 6k lunch run + Core workout
Friday: Speedwork 7k
Saturday: Kettlebell HIIT Workout
Sunday: 10k run
