#MotivateMe Monday: The Happiness Project

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend hopping with your families!  This weekend was a very busy hockey weekend.  Every Easter for the past 49 years, the Brampton Canadettes Girls Hockey Association hosts a girls hockey tournament for female hockey teams ranging in age and ability from Novice Houseleague (7-8 yrs old) to Intermediate AA Rep (which is the female equivalent to men’s Jr. A hockey).  Sierra’s team played in the Atom DS division, and Brooke’s Novice DS team was coached by my hubby.  Over three days the girls played in 11 hockey games, and little Amber also played in her own hockey on Saturday.

Sierra’s team won all 4 of their round robin games, then won their quarter final game, and unfortunately was knocked out of the tournament when they lost 3-1 in their semifinal game.

Brooke’s team won all three of their round robin games, won their quarterfinal game, and was also knocked out when they lost 3-1 in their semifinal game.  They both did very well to finish in third place.  Sierra’s division had 25 teams, and Brooke’s division had 28 teams.

Hockey is thankfully almost done.  We have 1 more crazy hockey day (next Sunday) then we get an 11 day break before rep hockey try-outs start.  Both Brooke and Sierra want to try out. I’m not sure if either one of them will make the teams, though it’s worth a shot right?  Then, in less than a month, softball starts up again.  All three are already registered, and I’m signed up to coach a team (most likely Brooke’s team).

Last week’s fitness wasn’t great.  I got in a run and a few DailyBurn strength workouts and that was about it.  As I shared on Friday in Five Things that Make Me Happy, I’m really missing the 6k run I used to do on my lunch breaks. It made me happy, like ridiculously happy, so this week in an effort to find my way back to happy, I’m going to go to work 30 min earlier on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so that I can run/workout on my lunch breaks.

Here’s this week’s fitness plan:

Monday: 6k lunch run + Dailyburn DBK6 workout (kettlebell workout) 
Tuesday: 3 miles with Becky and Juliette before work + Dailyburn DBK4 workout (kettlebell workout)
Wednesday: 6k lunch run at lunch + Dailyburn Yoga workout in the evening
Thursday: 3 miles before work
Friday: CXWORKX workout at lunch at GoodLife Fitness
Saturday: Hopefully a short solo run (in the daylight!!)
Sunday: CRAZY busy hockey day so recovery day :)
