Halloween, Training and #MotivateMe Monday Linkup

If you’re new here, #MotivateME Monday is a weekly link-up co-hosted by myself and Run Mommy Run for accountability and encouragement. It’s a place for us to share goals, plans, successes and have each other to pick us up to keep moving forward.

Happy Monday everyone!

Last week was a busy week! Do you find Halloween stressful too?  I have to admit that Halloween is one of my least favourite events.  Trying to find (or make) the perfect costume is sooooooo stressful!  This year all three of my kids made their own costumes – Sierra was a jellyfish, Brooke was a softball (a joint costume with her best friend who dressed up as a softball bat) and Amber dressed up like a pumpkin:

Even Pecan the cat wore a Halloween costume:

Fitness Recap:

Monday: Lunch time boot camp class – I absolutely love this class, though I can’t remember what we did this week 🙂

Tuesday: Lunch run – ran some really fast splits!

Wednesday: Lunch time boot camp class

Thursday: Yasso 800’s at the track.  They were fast for me, but if the theory is correct, the predicted time for a marathon for me is currently 4 hours.

It was Amber’s birthday so we took her out for a nice dinner.  Grandma sent her a card – getting birthday mail is something Amber looks forward to every year.

Friday: Rest – Sierra had a hockey tournament in Niagara Falls, and Brooke had a tournament in Rochester, NY so it was a busy weekend of driving around and cheering the girls on.

Saturday: Lots of walking.  Took the girls to see Niagara Falls between the hockey games, then did a body weight workout at home after the hockey tournament. Unfortunately Sierra’s team was knocked out of the tournament after the round-robin and didn’t go on to the semi finals.

Sunday: Rest/worked on taking photos for some upcoming workout posts (stay tuned).  I also worked on a recipe post for Friday.

The week started off strong, then we headed into the weekend where hockey took over my life.  I’m sure I needed a break in my training, but it was really hard to give myself permission to back off.  Tonight I’m really feeling an itch to run, I can’t wait for next week!

Here’s this week’s fitness plan:

Monday: 8k morning run + Lunch Bootcamp Class
Tuesday: Easy 8k lunch run
Wednesday: 8k morning run + lunch Bootcamp class
Thursday: Speedwork
Friday: Easy 8k lunch run
Saturday: Kettlebell HIIT Workout
Sunday: 10k run

I’m really looking forward to an intense training week – not being able to be as active as I wanted to be last week was frustrating!

Have a great week!

Looks like you are seeing my continued improvements. After what seems like a year off from running, I’m really itching to get back to it! 4 months to go!

Too bad Sierra finished the tourney after the round robin! It was nice to see you though!

I have not done track workout in a long long time. I remember how hard those 800’s are. Looks like you have been having a great couple of weeks
