New Blog Look for Spring and #MotivateMe Monday

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great week!  Last week was a week where my motivation came in fits and spurts.  Some days I felt really motivated, did great with my food tracking with myfitnesspal and enjoyed swinging my kettlebell, then on other days I wanted to eat ALL.THE.FOOD. and just wanted to sit around.  Saturday morning I found myself not having to rush anyone to hockey, but was struggling to find the motivation to write a blog post or workout. I then decided that it was time to freshen up the look of Fitness Cheerleader and clean it up for Spring, there’s nothing like a fresh new look (or outfit) to get the motivation back, right?!? I really hope this helps me find my writing mojo again.

So about that weight loss thing I was talking about a few weeks ago…  Spring-Is-An-Excellent-Reminder-For-Weight-Gain-Funny-Picture

My plan to lose the winter weight is to log my meals, and to lift heavy things everyday while my ankle heals and I’m happy to say that it’s working! My friend at work and I are having a friendly competition with myfitnesspal to see who can be the closest to their calorie goal without going over the most times in a month.  The person who wins gets $5 from the loser.  This is REALLY helping me and the scale is no longer creeping upwards, yay!  In fact it’s crept downwards for a total loss of 3lbs.  I have 7 to go until I hit the weight I was last fall.  Then I want to maintain my weight and build TONS OF MUSCLE!!

Here’s what I did last week:

Monday: Dailyburn DBK6 workout (kettlebell workout)
Tuesday: Dailyburn DBK4 workout (kettlebell workout) + 3 miles on the dreadmill at lunch
WednesdayBodyPump at Goodlife at lunch + Dailyburn Yoga workout in the evening
Thursday: Will try a lunch time 5k run (run 5 min, walk 1) Did a dailyburn workout with Juliette and Becky instead
Friday: CXWORKX workout at lunch at GoodLife Fitness
Saturday: Hopefully a short solo run (in the daylight!!)
Sunday: recovery day 🙂

This weekend, Brooke, my middle daughter, played in a hockey tournament in Scarborough. Her team played a total of 7 games, They won 6 of their games, and tied one 0-0…. They won the entire tournament! Sunday was quite an exciting day watching her and her team play in the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. In both the semifinals and the finals her team came from behind to win!

We were so happy for her!

Here’s this week’s fitness plan:

Monday: Dailyburn DBK6 workout (kettlebell workout)
Tuesday: 3 miles with Becky and Juliette before work + Dailyburn DBK4 workout (kettlebell workout)
Wednesday: BodyPump at Goodlife at lunch + Dailyburn Yoga workout in the evening
Thursday: 3 miles before work
Friday: CXWORKX workout at lunch at GoodLife Fitness
Saturday: Hopefully a short solo run (in the daylight!!)
Sunday: recovery day 🙂

Have a great week everyone!
