Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you all had a great week and weekend. My week was absolutely fantastic and I feel like screaming:
I ran a total of FOUR times in one week! For the past few months I’ve only been running twice a week and every run has gotten harder and harder. A week ago a light bulb turned on in my brain and I realised I need to run MORE to get better/easier, so that week I ran 3 times and this week 4 times. Being back feels so good!
Monday I ran 6 solo kilometers before our Family Day parents vs kids hockey:
Tuesday morning I went for a 5.5 k run, but this time it was with Juliette and Becky (and still dark out):
On Wednesday I went to BodyPump at GoodLife Fitness and I was surprisingly able to lift as much as I was able to a year ago before I dropped BodyPump. Slowly over the past 6 weeks of going to BodyPump I’ve gotten stronger and stronger… Yay!
Thursday morning I ran 5.5 k with Juliette before work.
On Friday I ditched work and tagged along on my daughter’s school ski trip, and so did Juliette and Becky! The three of us spent the day skiing, while my daughter Sierra decided to use the lessons included with the trip to learn how to snowboard as I taught her how to ski last year. Unfortunately she didn’t get the sticker she needed to go to the “big” hill, but I don’t think she was too disappointed because most of her friends didn’t get to leave the bunny hill either.
On Saturday, after our day of hockey, we took the train in to Toronto for Sierra’s big night… Sierra won the Scotiabank Skater contest to skate on the ice with the Toronto Maple Leafs!!!
This was a VERY exciting night for the girls because none of them have been to an NHL game ever before. Can you imagine skating on the ice waving a flag in front of 20,000 people by yourself?!?

She even insisted on wearing her goalie gear, which turned out to work to her advantage because James Reimer invited her to stand on the blue line beside him during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner and O’Canada.
On Sunday afternoon after the kids hockey games, I snuck out with Juliette to go for the longest run I’ve done this year… 15.2 k!!! On Friday on our way to the ski hill we decided that it would be fun to try to run there, so that’s what we did.
The run was ok for the first half, but on the way back it felt like we were running uphill the entire way…. I’ll have to just keep up with the weekend long runs to get over that feeling I guess. All in all this was a fantastic week!
This week my fitness plan is:
Monday: BodyFlow Yoga at GoodLife Fitness
Tuesday: 4 mile run + core workout
Wednesday: BodyPump at GoodLife Fitness
Thursday: 4 mile run + core workout
Friday: CXWORX™ at GoodLife Fitness + Skating with the kids after work
Saturday: 45 min indoor trainer cycling + DailyBurn Yoga workout
Sunday: Long run
