Motivation Monday: Where’ve You Been Janice?

Hi!

It’s been a very busy past few weeks here in Casa De Smith… So busy that I haven’t blogged here, or been on Twitter much and for that I apologize. I didn’t mean to leave you making assumptions about where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to. Actually it’s still a busy time for me, so I’ll just recap with pictures:

School is now out for summer!
Sierra is home and Brooke is finished Pre-school! Now that I have all 3 kids home with me, they want to go for a run with me, as long as we hit up a park part way through:

My Running Buddies

Our pool is OPEN!
We bought an older home 4 yrs ago in the winter (read: the pool was covered with a foot of snow). When we opened it that first summer we discovered that the liner was disintegrating… This summer we finally could afford to have the liner replaced and the kids are ecstatic! We’ve been getting a TON of family exercise swimming. In fact, one day the kids spent 5 hours in it!

Amber & Sierra (aka my fish)

Amber is crawling!
And I’m busy pulling out Polly Pockets, Littlest Pet Shops and various other goodies she finds to pop into her mouth:

Birthdays!!!
Brooke turned FOUR (where does the time go?):

Happy Birthday Brookie!

and I turned:

Seriously? How is it possible that I'm *almost* 40?

Hasbro Toys invited us to a sneak peek of their fall line up of toys. The hospitality and attention that Hasbro showed us made the girls feel like royalty. There are some great family games being released – classics with a new spin on them, like Connect 4 Launchers:

I'll beat you!

Though truthfully, I’m the most excited about Let’s Rock Elmo! He is absolutely adorable! And I can’t wait to get my hands on him (he’d make a FANTASTIC Christmas Present):

Oh! Almost forgot… I teamed up with some very close fitness bloggers – together we designed & launched a new site called Fitness Collaborative!
We’re kicking it off with a Virtual Half Marathon! Prizes… Support… Check it out!

But don’t worry about me, despite all of these goings on I’ve still been getting my sweat on and eating healthy meals, and maintaining my weight (I think I forgot to mention/post that I lost 20 lbs in the first 4 mos this year and have been maintaining it for 3 mos – remind me to post pics in another post):

Maintenance Mode

So… What have you been busy doing these first two weeks of summer? How do you stay active in the heat?

I, for one, am extremely grateful that Fitness Collaborative is around! #RunHades is getting me into the habit of MOVING 3+x a week and I’m loving it!
Hoping your little one feels better soon! 🙁

I can so relate to the business of Summer. I’m trying to keep up with blogging, but it’s been really tough. Looks like you and your family are having a great time so far.
