This is my Mamavation post for Monday,September 27 , 2010.

Hey everyone!

Mamavation Monday

Mamavation Monday

How was your week last week? Did you get up and move? Did you drink your water? Get your beauty sleep? And eat your 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies? (Remember: fruit and veggies are chock full of fiber!).

For the most part my week was uneventful.  Well…. except for being nominated into the Top 50 Most Inspirational Healthy Tweeps!  I’ve never been nominated into any of those kinds of things despite blogging  for 6 yrs and tweeting for 3!  I’m so excited!  I don’t personally care if I’m in the top 2 – I’d just like to make the top 25 (there’s my competitive nature coming out).  The list hasn’t been ranked yet – so could you go and vote for me (@fitcheerldr), *bats eyes* please?

Our week was very busy with our usual activities, as well as school, work, daycare etc..  Total routine – perfect for eating well and getting my walks in.  Though I did have to take Friday off of work to stay home with my 3 yo because she had her first cold in well over a year!  When I called into work it occurred to me that in the 18 mos I’ve been at my “new” job, that I’ve never taken a day off for the kids!  Hmmmm – eating well & exercise?  Perhaps that’s helped.

Over the weekend, my in-laws visited and brought us the cradle they had been storing for us.  Of course that kicked my nesting into high gear – it’s about time!  I seriously hadn’t gotten anything ready!  Even my hubby was starting to wonder when I was going to prepare for the new addition.  Ive now gotten the car seat liner washed, and the seat installed in my van, baby clothes sorted (not washed yet), and a pile of stuff somewhat packed for the hospital.  (I’m still on the fence regarding a homebirth with my midwife, as my hospital birth with a midwife 3 yrs ago was perfect and amazing – I really wouldn’t change a thing about it).

Anyways –  here’s a summary of what I accomplished:
Monday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout
Tuesday: Did my  Walk and Tone mp3 Workout with 2 co-workers
Wednesday: Rainy day – walked around the mall next to my work for an hour.
Thursday: Did my  Walk and Tone mp3 Workout
Friday: No workout – home with sick 3 yo.
Saturday: Rest/clean my house.
Sunday: Rest/play with the kids 🙂

Total walking distance this week = 10.5km

Total walking/running distance this pregnancy = 473.5 km … With 4 weeks of work left, I’m going to reach my goal of 500 km!!

This coming week I have my 34 week midwife appointment – I’m hoping that she says I can keep walking because it’s been amazing for my spirit.

Congrats to this week’s Sista of the Week: Joanna  @way2gomom from the blog “Breaking the Myth of Supermom“.

his week ‘s blogging carnival is sponsored by Pete Cohen and his new nutritional program. Go to http://www.petecohennutrition.com/to check it out. One membership to his program will be given away to someone who mentions his program on their Mamavation Monday post with a link back.

Have a great week everyone!!

You are awesome! Way to stay active throughout your pregnancy! 🙂 You are such a postive healthy role model to MANY women! Which is precisely why I voted for you twice (once before the poll crashed and again afterwards 🙂 ) I hope you are in the top 25 also! 🙂

I soooooo was a walker with my pregnancies too. And the way you said it was good for your spirit was EXACTLY how I felt about it.

We’re selling our baby furniture this week. We decided once and for all we’re done. So reading all your nesting and excitement made me have to swallow away a teeny lump in my throat. Lol.

    Have a great week, Sistah.

Awww hugs! We were on the fence for a LONG time over this & ultimately the decision was made for us. Though now that the shock has worn off we’re excited about it.

I did no nesting in my pregnancy. None. I did what I needed to do but I skipped out on the “have to get it all done” stuff. I still maintain that my lack of activity what a major contributor to it all.

    ps. Voted 🙂

You are such an inspiration! I almost wish I was pregnant again so I could do better with activity this time around. I am planning on having a girlfriend of mine download your walk ‘n tone now that she is pregnant and is having a hard time keeping up with me at the gym. I think it would be perfect for her. Cheering for you in the polls!

Your midwife will keep saying keep walking, I have no doubt. She knows you’ll probably go crazy if she recommends you stop doing that. Congrats for the Top 50 nomination. You bring a lot to your readers. I’m hoping you crash through Top 25 as well. xoxo
