This is my Mamavation post for Monday, October 11, 2010. This week is VOTING week – so please take a moment and vote for your favourite mamavation finalist – the winner will be announced next week Monday (O4ct. 18th) at the Mamavation Twitter Launch Party (I’m one of the special guests!).

Hey everyone!

Mamavation Monday

Mamavation Monday

How was your week last week? Did your drink your water? Get your beauty sleep? And eat your 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies? (Remember: fruit and veggies are chock full of fiber!).

This weekend was our Thanksgiving – so I ate FAR too much! That’s also why I’ve been MIA – we drove up 6 hours to my in-laws place right after work on Friday, and we’ve stayed until today. My mother in-law is a fantastic cook! I almost took a trip to Labour & Delivery on Sunday morning, but after lying down for and hour I realized my “problem” was that I’d eaten too much… Gas pains are very good at mimicking labour – I’m so glad that I didn’t embarrass myself 🙂

Normally I list a summary of what I accomplished here, but truthfully I didn’t accomplish much. I’m ok with this because my body is busy doing it’s biggest job ever – growing a BABY!! I’ve begun taking it easy because I have a history of delivering early – My 5 year old daughter was born at 36 weeks 0 days, and my 3 year old daughter was born at 38 weeks (truthfully I can’t remember how many days because it wasn’t nearly as traumatic as my first daughter’s birth was). I’m now in that pt your feet p and relax phase – the phase that drives me absolutely batty! I can’t wait to get my sweat on again!

This week I have my 36 week midwife appointment on Thursday. My hubby is coming so I’m super excited about that – he has yet to meet my midwives and I think it’s important for him to get to know them before the big day! I’ve taken Thursday off of work (I’ve accrued some vacation that I need to use up), and will be going to get my hair done – can’t wait because it’s been TWO YEARS since my last cut!

Congrats to this week’s Sista of the Week: Amanda aka @beeacutie2″ from the blog Families Are Forever.

BLOGGING CARNIVAL: This week ‘s blogging carnival is sponsored by SUBWAY. SUBWAY is giving away a green iPod Shuffle and a $10 iTunes gift card to one lucky winner. All you have to do is mention the Commit to Fit Campaign and Jared on their Mamavation Monday post.

Have a great week everyone!!

YAY baby will be here soon! I was wondering if you’d gone into labor this weekend bc you weren’t around much. However, I see that now and I saw your post on twitter the other night too.

It’s strange that other countries have their own thanksgiving dates simply because I’m so used to MOST holidays being world wide. Does that make sense?

Relax and enjoy these last few weeks of being preggo! Have a great week 🙂

I have to giggle about the “gas labor.” Funny. Man, you’re almost there! I was wondering when you would finally slow down! I know it’s not your style to take it easy and rest, but you gotta do it!

    So excited for you!!

BTW – Did all of my runs this week! On to week 2! Thanks so much for your help.

Enjoy your rest and pampering time. That is your biggest workout now in the home stretch. It is time to tap into your feminine energy as you prepare your body for birth.

I am also glad you did not end up in L&D over some yummy food pains. Have a great week.

You know, i think it’s awesome that you listened to your body and realized that you weren’t in labor! I was thinking about you this week after you told us that your others were born at 36 weeks and you were having some stuff going on.

I hope you’re able to get lots of rest this week!

    MWAH!

Glad that you are doing well. Those gas pains are something! I had it really bad with my last one. Glad you had a great weekend and hope that you have a fantastic week!

I think you are doing what we all need to do more of. Listen to our body. I know I ignore my body when it says I need to do stuff and sometimes when it tells me I need to rest. Walk when your body says yes and put your feet up when it is time for that too. Take it easy your body is doing something amazing and wonderful right now, and thre will be plenty of time for running and walking when that baby is born. Well maybe not plenty but you will make it work. 😉

I would say you’ve accomplished a lot, because you’re having a baby! Just the daily act of being pregnant is a feat in and of itself! Take care of yourself, take it easy and have a great week!
