Mamavation

Motivation Monday: August 23, 2010

This is my Mamavation post for Monday, August 23, 2010.

Hey everyone!

Mamavation Monday

Mamavation Monday

How was your week? My week was pretty good – I was motivated for most of the week, but found the lack of routine on the weekend hard to overcome, which may have had something to do with the rain… Rain that we desperately needed! My eating was ok, but I bet I could make a better effort to get my fruits & veggies in. Oh! and my midwife called – my fatigue is due to low iron (again!). So I’m now on a double dose of SpaTone. I must say that it’s been helping – Yay! (Something to consider if you’re feeling run down).

This week I only logged 8km of walking towards my 500 by birth goal, which means I’m at now 429 KM.

Monday: Worked out with my awesome trainer at lunch.
Tuesday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout – my arms were killing me the next morning! (walked 4k)Ran 5k.
Wednesday: Worked out with my awesome trainer at lunch.
Thursday: No workout because I had a prenatal massage!
Friday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout – my arms were killing me on Saturday morning! (walked 4k)
Saturday: Rest day.
Sunday: Rest day.

Next week I hope to workout twice with my personal trainer and do 3-4 walks. I’ll also start week # 1 of the Inner Mean Girl Cleanse – it’s a 6 week cleanse/coaching program designed to help think more positively – I’m really looking forward to it, and would love for you to join me in it.

Take the Inner Mean Girl 40-Day Cleanse

Congrats to this week’s Sista: ShawneeH!

PS – I’ve got some great giveaways for you this week:
1. Walk & Tone mp3 Workout
2. Anti Monkey Butt Powder
3. The Rattles “Rattle On” CD

The rain kinda made me lazy as well. I’m going to have to check out this Inner Mean Girl Cleanse. Sounds very interesting. I might be along for the ride. Have a super week Janice!

Thanks Karla! Though I’m going to need some help from all of my Sista’s once I’m on maternity leave, I find working out much harder at home. Are ya up for the challenge?

I wish I had you nearby for my next pregnancy. You could coach me through being fit while pregnant. I did poorly when I was preggers with my DD. I gained 40 lbs or so, which isn’t bad, but my nutrition was terrible. I ate whatever, never exercised…and yeah. With a person like you around, a person just wants to do better. KWIM?

Thanks for the link to the internal mean cleanse. I signed up! I think I need it. 😉

Doh, I meant to sign up for the inner mean girl school over a week ago. Thanks for the reminder.

You are doing awesome Janice. I am glad iron was the solution to your fatigue. Do your best to get those freggies in. If flailing remember that this weather will not be around year-round, take advantage now while everything is fresh and local (like in your yard local).

Glad you were able to get some energy with the iron pills – I know how tough the 3rd trimester can be when you’re working AND have another little one.

Keep up the great work and can’t wait to meet the new addition to your family 🙂

I have to tell you, I am so stoked to get your newsletter for how to run a 5K. I so want to be able to do this in the near future but running scares me and I suck at it. But I want to learn how to love it. You are such an inspiration and I enjoy getting to know you on Twitter! Good luck with your goals this week!

The weather is such a motivating factor! I did so much more this week as it was cooler, less humid and less rainy here than its been all summer. I can definitely understand it throwing you off schedule. Hope the extra iron helps you get some more energy too!

Thanks for the tip about low iron… I ALWAYS forget about my iron levels… I am typically low, so I am going to take some extra for a while… I have been feeling completely exhausted lately and I bet that is playing a BIG part!

    have a great week hun!

I always forget too 🙂 Have you tried spatone iron? It’s liquid & you add it to your morning juice (I add it to cranberry juice bc I frequently get bladder infections). It’s easy on my tummy & don’t get any of the other unpleasant side effects that you typically get from iron either.

You’re just about the coolest person I know. You’ll get to that 500k goal! Just think of the walking you’ll be doing in early labour 🙂

Oh yay for prenatal massage. I had such bad sciatica, that’s the only thing that saved me, take full advantage of it, it’s so wonderful!

I seriously hope we can run together in the Spring! I’m really, really excited to get yer W&T MP3 too. Like…super duper 🙂

I thought of you every time it rained last week. And we had some doozy thunderstorms over the weekend!

I LOVE the Walk & Tone workout! I’ll be getting my review up this week – sorry for the delay. Had to make a few bloggy changes. 🙂

You’re doing great, Janice. What a great start your little one will have in life!

Once again, I love seeing how active you are while pregnant! You are such a great example! I didn’t get around to writing my review this week, I wanna try it out once with the new one you were talking about, with the quieter voice overs. I hope you have a great week and keep up the good work Mama!

I definatly think its time for new weights for me im at 3 lbs still and can do alot of reps with those. gyms cost to much so im stuck at home.

good job with all your workouts keep up the good work

      Thanks Lorrie!

Oh definitely! A set of 10lb free weights is far more affordable than a gym membership. Time to ditch those 3lb wts – your purse probably weighs more!
