Happiness

Happiness is… Rest, Relaxation and LOTS of Retail Therapy

The past two days were absolutely amazing and seem to be exactly what the doctor ordered:

Happiness is... Rest, Relaxation and LOTS of Retail Therapy

It all started Monday night…

I was COMPLETELY exhausted, so I went to bed at 8:51 (it really was 8:51 because I remember looking at my phone and thinking, man – that’s early! I’m getting old).  In fact – I think I even tweeted it:

Man – I felt great on Tuesday!

I then took yesterday off of work, and headed down to Buffalo, New York with one of my best friends on Tuesday night, right after I finished giving the girls their baths (I hate missing their bed time).  Why?  For some SHOPPING!!

Normally I can’t stand shopping (because I HATE spending money), but my best friend knows where all the awesome deals are – especially in Buffalo, New York!

Our drive to the US wasn’t long (only an hour), so we checked into our hotel (Best Western Summit Inn) and then headed over to Chilis. Now I’ve never heard of them before, but the lure of 2 for 1 beers was enough to twist my rubber arm:

Oh I love me some cold beer in a frosted mug!!! Chilis sure knows the way into my heart!

While we were there we also fueled up for our late night shopping with  some nacho chips and salsa – yum!

(These were delicious!)

After filling my belly up with far too much beer (I had four), we headed over to the 24 hour WalMart.  Wow – a WalMart that’s open 24 hours!  I picked up some lava lamps for the girls, and an outfit each for Christmas, while my friend picked up her boys a few Nerf guns.  We then headed to the hotel to catch some sleep before our BIG shopping day.

The next morning we enjoyed our free breakfast at the Best Western (thank you!), and then headed over to Target and K-Mart – We don’t have Target in Canada, yet… (They’ll be here in the Spring of 2013).  I went nuts seeing all the great toys for girls that are exclusive to those stores – and picked up some great two-for-one deals. Ahhhh – having three daughters is great!  There’s definitely some economy in numbers.

After Target and K-Mart we headed over to the outlet mall for Santa to pick up Mrs Claus a Christmas present that she’s been wanting for a LONG time:

Thank you Santa!  (I also hear that there might be a matching wristlet under the tree for Mrs Claus). He he he…

After we maxed out our credit cards at the mall we headed over to Tops to get some dry groceries, and then the two exhausted wary shoppers headed home.

I had a great time – and definitely have a new bounce in my step (and a new purse on my shoulder).  Man – there’s nothing like the three R’s:

Rest Relaxation and Retail therapy

to make a girl happy!

I love that purse! Mrs. Claus’s mother would also love to have a purse like that!

Wait, there are Wal-Marts that AREN’T open 24 hours? I thought they all were! Sounds like a fun day to me (although I’m not a beer girl). But swap that out for some vodka and that sounds like good times. 🙂
