Before I tell you more about iSmoothRun, let me share with you a bit of my history with running apps (bear with me)….

4 years ago I began tracking my runs with my iPod Nano and the just introduced at the time, the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit. Tracking my runs and seeing my results (running further, running faster and running more often) really motivated me. Enter the iPhone… Fall 2010, much to my husband’s disapproval, I upgraded to an iPhone4. The iPhone opened up a world of GPS running apps, and trust me, I tried them all: Nike+GPS, RunKeeper, RunMeter GPS, iMapMyRun, iRunner, etc..

    I began running because I heard you burned more calories when doing it and you needed to burn calories to lose weight. I needed to lose some pounds so I tried it. Not only did I (am I) losing some pounds, but I love running. I love knowing how much I can do it (how far, for how long, and how fast) and continue to push myself to do more (to see if I can).

    I use runkeeper on my IPhone 4 and enter my miles online (dailymile). I enjoyed reading your blog post.

    Well, I just started running – working on C25K on the treadmill, and I’m looking forward to moving outdoors in the spring. I think this app would be GREAT for motivation, tracking, etc. Thanks for the chance to win!!

    Sounds like a great app, but I like to be able to see info while I’m running and I haven’t found a good way to carry my iPhone and do that.

    Great review. I have been down the same path as far as app go. Started with my nano and Nike+. From there it was Runkeeper and iMapMyRun. I also have the Wahoo key to track HR data but wish I had the HR zones for training.

    My weekly mileages of 10-12 miles helps me maintain my weight. I lost 35 lbs. a little over a year ago. I’ve been running consistently for a little over a year and recently completed my first half marathon (2:27).

    Love the articles here. Found you through Zite but now visit directly. Keep the great info coming.

    Both my Garmin and iPod are lost, so I’m in a similar bind for decisions…

    My Blackberry is on its way out, but my boss wants me to replace it with another rather than switch to iPhone…

    I’m motivated to exercise in general just to maintain weight and fitness… but running is my favourite, so I’ll often choose it over any other kind of exercise… it’s more fun!
