Hi, I’m Janice, The Not-So-Fit Fitness Cheerleader

It’s time for me to be honest and as Dr. Phil would say, “Get real”. Other than the one great week doing The 30 Day Shred workout DVD, I haven’t done much in the past 7 weeks since I had Amber.

I know… I wasn’t supposed to be doing anything. Rest & recovery are important too.

Unfortunately, resting makes me feel like a sloth and my mind goes to a dark fuzzy place when I’m not moving around & getting my sweat-on. Am I the only one this happens to?

But now I’m ready – ready to shake away the fog and get moving. I have goals and wishes and desires – I got the all-clear from my Dr, so I’m ready to get back to being ME!    Will you join me?

I’m ready to no longer be the Not-so-fit Fitness Cheerleader. And here’s my plan (because fitness just doesn’t happen, you need to PLAN it):

  • Sunday: Week 1, Day 1 Couch to 5K AND Day 1 30 Day Shred
  • Monday: Day 2 30 Day Shred
  • Tuesday: Week 1, Day 2 Couch to 5K AND Day 3 30 Day Shred
  • Wednesday: Day 4 30 Day Shred
  • Thursday: Week 1, Day 3 Couch to 5K AND Day 5 30 Day Shred
  • Friday: Day 6 30 Day Shred
  • Saturday: REST!

I was VERY active, running & doing my Bootcamp class – my arms & legs were fitter than they had been in years! Unfortunately muscle is lost very quickly if you don’t use it – so it’s totally time for me to use it and there’s no point in waiting until 2011 to get back to a routine.

So yeah – time for me to move & groove again, what about you? Will you be moving and grooving along with me this week?

    I won’t be moving and grooving yet, but I can’t wait to after this baby comes! Love your plan. Planning is important. I already think of plans for post-baby fitness. I’m so ready.

      I couldn’t wait either and would have started running 2 weeks ago but this whole Christmas thing got in the way. I did day 1 of couch to 5k yesterday & am mega sore!

    Good for you setting a weekly rotation! I’m actually working on an Insanity rotation and I have 2 weeks left! After that, I’m starting a strength training rotation with P90X!

    I think it’s important to keep a rotation set so you know what you’re doing from day to day and there’s no room for wembling and talking yourself out of a workout because you can’t pick one out. That’s a big thing for me!

    I know you’ll do great!

    Wow lady!! I am impressed at your running at 30 weeks self!! I trapped raccoons for work at 30 weeks pregnant 🙂 It is now my claim to fame! lol

    Great plan and good luck!
    I wish I could say I was going to join you, but I am suppossed to be off my sprained ankle until at least Monday, though I did a little movement tonight to see how it is going to hold out. It is getting better, but definitely not ready for jumping around or running 🙁

    Not sure I know how to not move and groove but I will certainly be there with you and hopefully inspiring and motivating you.

    There is nothing like having others around to help get you going.

    Love your plan and I have no doubt you will stick to it.

    Plus you will lead by example to your daughter and she will be moving and grooving as well.

    You’re making me exhausted with your plan. 😉 But, I have to say it’s highly inspirational!

    My plan this week is 30 minutes each on (every day): Treadmill, ab lounge, spinner, pilates machine (working on mamaguns), and gazelle! That equals 150 minutes of exercise each day!

    Aaaahhhh, I’ve been a lazy bum these past couple of weeks too! I just bought EAS active 2 for my shiny new PS3 so I’m hoping to do some work on that this week in preparation for the p90x thang starting next week (eeeks!)

    I guess that makes me the Not-so-Fit-Mom in Training 🙁

    Oh Janice – you are precious! And no, you are not alone! Isn’t that great?! My work schedule has been crazy and I’m definitely out of my groove. The good news, is that I’ve still been moving – walks, wogs, pushups – which is a total shift for me. But I really haven’t been working at the the intensity as I was pre-mid-November. Then, it rained, I got sick, and had this mole removed (stitches required – all tests negative) so I did NOTHING for 1 week. And BOY can I feel it! My attitude took a total dive and it was not pretty. I wogged Sat & Sun and I’m really looking forward to spending the vacation bumping up the intensity cuz I’ve really lost a lot of my strength and endurance lately.
    Soooo – for me – elliptical intervals (sweat) 2x; Sonjia’s cross fit (1x); wog 2x & on my own resistance 1x.
    Oh gosh… public it is and together we can!
