Please send me the number of days you were able to eat your 7-8 servings before Mamavation Monday on MingleTV at 10 PM est time Monday Night, so that either I, or Leah can announce this week’s winner of the SIGG Water Bottle!
I want to thank everyone for participating! You’re all winners in my eyes because you’re giving your body more of the yummy fruits and veggies that it needs.
I also want to share a few tips about eating your fruits & veggies:
Wash your fruits and vegetables:
Even if you are not eating the outside you need to wash your fruits and veggies. Why? Because as you cut open you then transfer whatever (and whomever touched the item prior to your purchase) into the fruit of vegetable. And don ‘t be shy use soap and water. An example is cantaloupe ” you should see how and what they use to fertilize cantaloupe in Mexico. It would absolutely turn you off of eating the fruit. So go ahead wash the outside with soap and water then cut into and enjoy!!! Another is the Apple ” how many of you pick through the apples to find just the right one to purchase. Now imagine all those other people and kids with snotty noses etc that have touched and felt your apple?!?! Please WASH everything. Even if it says on the packaged pre-washed ” wash it.
Packing Lunches ” What is Safe?
We are all packing our lunches and above I talk about washing your vegetables and fruits but didn ‘t go into how to keep them safe from making you sick when we leave them lying around. For those that still have the vegetables from the beginning of the month if they are not stored in the fridge ” throw them out right away!!! The tips below I ‘m sure you have all read or seen before but it is always a good reminder.
I know some days I ‘m rushing in at work and forget to put my lunch in the fridge ” boy am I taking my chances when I eat that chicken or turkey at lunch ” I don ‘t put mine in a insulated bag because I figure we have fridges.
For those with kids ” keep these tips in mind especially as we are moving toward the summer (ok wishful thinking but it will come soon) that when packing sandwiches with luncheon meats and mayo be careful.
Thanks everyone for participating & Good luck!
