14 Days to a Healthier Heart: Join the Challenge!

Hey guys it’s February and you know what that means…. It’s Heart Month!

Did you know that heart disease and stroke take 1 in 3 Canadians before their time? It’s the #1 killer of women – taking more women’s lives than all forms of cancer combined!!

But (and here’s the good thing) MOST of the risk factors for heart disease is totally preventable with some simple lifestyle changes. So now that my 31 days to a healthier you challenge is over, I’m starting a new challenge called…

14 Days to a Healthier Heart

(yes, I admit I totally suck in the creativity department)

Every morning for 14 days I’m going to post a new 1 day challenge that will help to make your heart and cardiovascular system healthier. I’ll highlight lifestyle changes you can make now to help prevent heart disease.

Here’s a few examples of the challenges:

  • Take 10,000 steps in a day.
  • Reduce your sodium intake.
  • Lower your cholesterol level.
  • Eat clean for a day.

You get the idea.

      Lol – that could definitely be the hard part, but if you’re signed up for the emails you won’t need to check the blog, just check your email.

    14 days, a very apt period for the challenge. How about cut the sugar intake? It is not directly related to the heart but it will be a big challenge, right?
