The Years Are Becoming Fond Memories

Happy 2014 everyone!! I hope you all had a great night welcoming 2014 and all that it will hold for you with your friends and family last night. I went to a fun New Year's Eve party held by our neighbour's and good friends, Juliette and Chris. It was a family friendly costume party – we all dressed up from the Mad Men era of the late 50's early 60's. It was so much fun!

I never knew that I could pull off wearing a pant suit made out of curtains!
At the party the hubster and I discovered that this was the 20th New Year's Eve that we've rung in together. We can't think of a single New Year's Eve that we haven't spent together since we met in November of 1994. That's more than half of my life!!

The years are rolling along so fast and fading into fond memories. Today we marked the end of an era for our family. We officially do not have any more babies in our home. A year ago, our youngest, Amber, stopped nursing, and she has been potty trained since the Spring. Today we took down her crib and moved a toddler bed into her room.

Mommy, I'm a big girl now!

Over the years there have been so many great events in our lives, and while it's the big events like being proposed to, getting married, buying our first home, finding out we were pregnant with each child etc that stand out in my mind, I do know there were many other things that happened over the years. The years are becoming fond memories far too fast, and I'm looking forward to the memories that 2014 will bring.

Happy New Year everyone!

I love the curtain pant suit! Did you get some help from Scarlett O’Hara from Gone with the Wind fame? Did the girls last until midnight?

Sierra & Brooke lasted, but I brought Amber to a bedroom to sleep at 11. Chris & Juliette offered to keep the girls overnight but we took them home. We’ve had a nice quiet family day – I cleaned & organised several rooms!

I had grand intentions of ringing in the new year, but once 10:30 hit, I was ready for bed. That’s exactly what the husband and I did, hit the sack around 11. If I had pushed, I might have made it but sleep sounded better. I’m sure once my son is older, he’ll want to stay up and think it’s a cool treat, but for now we’ll stick to going to bed early!!

Also, that pant suit is AWESOME!!
