The Seven-Year Itch & Salads 4 Lunch

The number 7 has always had a very special meaning to me. My middle daughter, who is the spitting image of me, was born on 07-07-07. My own birthday is also in the seventh month, so the number seven has been a strong influence in my life. The term “seven-year itch” has also had a strong influencing role in the choices I make:

The seven-year itch is a psychological term that suggests that happiness in a relationship declines after around year seven of a marriage. The phrase has since expanded to indicate cycles of dissatisfaction not only in interpersonal relationships but in any situation such as working a full-time job or buying a house, where a decrease in happiness and satisfaction is often seen over long periods of time.

I started my Mom on the Run blog 14 years ago, I wrote there for seven years then got an itch to make a change in my life.  I changed jobs, found my way back to fitness, and I started a new blog.  For seven great years I shared my running journey, fitness motivation and a few nutrition tips on that new blog, Fitness Cheerleader.

Here we are seven years later and I find myself again wanting to make some pretty significant changes in my life.  Hubby and I are in the midst of planning a major renovation to our house, our oldest daughter is changing schools, and I’ve wanted to change what I write about on this blog and my focus.  Which means it’s time to change the name of my blog to more closely reflect this to: Salads 4 Lunch.

What will I write about?

Well for starters I want to be more open and honest with you – it’s hard to write about struggling with fitness when your blog’s name is Fitness Cheerleader.  I will of course still share my running and lifting with you, but I also want to share the struggles.  I also want to share all of my eating with you, without feeling like the deliciously awesome chocolate brownie I just ate, or the wonderful glass of wine I drank while writing my blog post doesn’t fit into my blog.  I’ve thought long hard about what stays consistent in my life even through all of life’s ups and downs and I came up with salad.  I either make myself a salad, or buy a salad for lunch every.single.day.  So I want to post my salad and salad dressing recipes.  I’m a horrible cook and I truthfully don’t have a lot of time for cooking, but I do have time to make salads.  There are so many wonderful salads that I want to share with you!

If you follow me in social media you will probably be still following me as I’ve switched the majority of my accounts over to my new name: salad4lunch. But if that didn’t work you can find me at:

twitter: @salads4lunch
facebook: /salads4lunch
instagram: salads4lunch

I hope you’ll stay and continue to follow along my journey to eat healthy, live active and enjoy life!

I’ll definitely stay with you Janice. .. I just realized I’m coming up on my 7 years of blogging. I’ve been thinking about where I’m going with it, I know I want to continue to write.. but probably with changes

I too love salads, if I could afford to eat it twice a day I would.. and although I can cook, I rarely have time or energy xox ?
