Over the past week I’ve encountered MAJOR writer’s block – I haven’t really had much to say. I could blame it on being tired – I’ve solo parented for a few nights in a row (having hubby come home 20 min after I put all of the kids to bed by myself still counts as solo parenting, right?). Or I could blame it on the weather (we got a FOOT of snow on Wednesday), OR I’m sure I could find something else to blame it on if I really wanted.
But truth of the matter, it’s my own fault. I’ve been trying too hard.
I’ve been racking my brain out for that one awesome post that will leave you saying:
“Hey that Janice is awesome! I LOVE her blog and want to keep coming back!”
Blogging, like fitness, isn’t like that.
There isn’t one magical workout that will turn you into a goddess (or adonis). You can do 200 squats a day, but all that will get you is strong legs – your arms won’t be any stronger.
One great post isn’t gonna make my blog awesome – it’ll just strengthen that one category.
In a quest for greatness, I had forgotten that. I’ve lost a ton of my baby weight (14lbs since Christmas) by just working out and sweating for 45 min every day. I just kept on trucking, doing what makes me happy, and Voila – it just happened, I reached my goal weight. To maintain it, I’ll need to keep doing that – working out AND enjoying my workouts.
Blogging is the same way. Writing for fun, and writing whatever comes to my mind every day, will help my writer’s block will disappear. I’ve found my mojo again – I’m gonna go back to writing just whatever comes to my mind, do it for fun, just like I’ve done with my fitness. I hope you’ll stay along for the ride!
