Dear old me,
It’s me, you, but 10 yrs older. I won’t say I’m a wiser you, just a more experienced you, which means I have things to share with you. First off, put down that burger and the fries. You know how you want to be a faster, stronger runner and one day qualify for Boston? Well that crap that you’re eating isn’t going to help you. You need to fuel your body well in order to recover from your hard workouts. It won’t kill you to occasionally eat a vegetable or two. And you know those beers that you drink every night? Well those are interfering with your training because they’re making you miss workouts. I know you love the taste, so why don’t you try an alcohol-free beer? They really don’t taste that bad, and they’re cheaper too!
Seriously girl – you can do it! All of those dreams you have of one day doing a 1/2 Ironman – well you can do it! You just need to commit to it – commit to the training, AND to the nutrition part of it. Hey now – don’t roll your eyes at me – nutrition is very, very important. Try it – trust me – you’ll feel so much better, and more energetic. I’ve got some recipes to share with you – you could try my Quinoa Greek Salad – put it in a wrap and bring it to work for your lunch.
